CASE STUDY: EMERGENCY EVACUATION & RESCUE TRAINING
The Work at Height Regulations 2005 mandate that employers must have a plan in place for emergencies and rescues, as relying solely on emergency services may not be sufficient due to the nature of the work.
In a recent project, Access Testing provided a self-contained rescue and evacuation system along with a comprehensive training program for over 160 employees. Delivered over several months, the training involved both theoretical lessons and practical exercises conducted at height in real-life workplace settings.
Our experienced instructors guided small groups of up to eight employees through the course, ensuring that each participant gained the competency needed to handle emergency situations effectively.
The training was continuously assessed, both practically and through a written test, and successful participants were certified for 12 months. In partnership with the client, we also made improvements to their safety systems, ensuring full compliance with the Work at Height Regulations and enhancing their ability to conduct safe and effective rescues.
